TEAM BUILDING EVENTS CBC always designs customized events around YOUR theme for YOUR EMPLOYEES! Each event is original and designed with the culture of your company and your specific theme and learning outcomes for your employees in mind. We carefully consult with you to understand your goals for the event, the key themes your employees need to grasp from the event and the location possibilities. We then will create your event - an original event - that will knock the socks off your employees. The AMAZING RACE! – Baltimore, Maryland Held in the beautiful Inner Harbor area, This Amazing Race was designed to teach participants how the differences of individuals on work teams could be valuable assets. The company assisted CBC in placing individuals on teams according to their skills, personality, strengths, and weaknesses. We then created an Amazing Race throughout the Inner Harbor area that would test employee’s abilities to work together to achieve team goals in order to complete the Amazing Race! Teams were required to photographically document each step in the race’s progression, so that we could create a multi-media show. This indoor event was held in January and the group of employees who participated was classified as “Growing Leaders” by their company. They were to be the next generation of leaders, to whom this company would look as it grew, to manage its growing business units.
If you are looking for out of the box FUN, you have come to the right place. It is interesting to note that few groups ever get to actually "see" the areas in which their conferences are held. Frequently they travel in and out without taking the time to appreciate the areas in which the event is being held. Often, CBC will design an event around getting employees outside for a hands-on experience that reinforces your event theme. If that is not possible or weather cannot be sufficiently predictable, we will design an indoor event.

The Gettysburg Adventure
A company was holding their annual middle management retreat in Gettysburg, PA. CBC developed a team building event for the group to take place on one of the key battlefields in the area Judy McCowan, this event’s facilitator, went and met with the Gettysburg Battlefield Police in advance, getting them involved in the game’s plan and theme. The police actually held the final piece to the group's entire "living puzzle" game. Participant teams spent about 1.5 hours participating in this hunt for pieces to solve their puzzles. The theme of this group's event was strategic thinking and decision-making. Of course, the puzzle itself required strategic thinking and decision making in order to determine the best courses to take to reach the team's goals and find each puzzle piece. Once back at the hotel/conference center, the debrief on this event led exactly into the theme of that group's weekend, and each participant was energized and ready to learn! This event was rated 5 out of 5 by the (roughly 100) participants on the CBC survey at the conclusion of the event. Similarly, the company tells us that their employees still talk about that event to this very day!
